USF Athletics

Dr. Lee Dorpfeld was named the Director of Sports Psychology at South Florida in July 2021. He previously served at USF as a behavioral health and sport psychology specialist for the Bulls from 2014-2021.

He first came to Tampa as an addiction professional/athletics liaison at the USF Counseling Center from 2010-11 before being named the coordinator of the Center for Addiction and Substance Abuse from 2011-13. Dr. Lee then spent one year (2013-14) at Arizona State University as the assistant director for clinical services/sports psychology before returning to USF in 2014.

His professional career dates back to 1995 and he has served as a counselor, clinician, therapist, clinical director and professor.

Lee graduated summa cum laude with his doctorate in psychology in 2002 from Southern California University. He earned a master’s of science in mental health counseling from Nova Southeastern in 1994 and his bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Miami in 1991.
