K.J. Hill joined the South Florida football staff in January of 2026 as an offensive analyst (wide receivers) on Brian Hartline’s first Bulls staff.

A former All-Big Ten wide receiver at Ohio State and a 2020 NFL Draft pick, he played two seasons for the Los Angeles Chargers (2020-21) and one for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2024) of the CFL. He ended his NFL career with 10 receptions for 103 yards and 181 return yards.
 
A native of North Little Rock, Ark., Hill played for Hartline at Ohio State where he caught 201 passes for 2,332 yards and 20 touchdowns in five seasons with the Buckeyes, including a string of 48 straight games with a reception to tie the school record. He set the Ohio State career record with 201 catches and ranked sixth in program history in receiving yards and touchdown catches, while becoming the first Buckeye to post 50-plus catches in three seasons.
 
Hill played in 53 career games and caught a pass in 50. He served as a co-captain during the 2019 season as he helped lead the Buckeyes to three consecutive outright Big Ten Championships (2017, 2018, 2019).
 
Hill led the team in receptions during his sophomore season (2017) as he caught 56 passes for 549 yards. In that season he posted a career-best 12 receptions (the fourth-best total in program history) and 102 receiving yards in a come-from-behind win over Penn State. He earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention in 2018 as a junior when he caught 70 passes for 885 yards and six touchdowns, including a career-best 187-yard, two touchdown effort at Minnesota. He returned for his senior season of 2019 and again led the team with 57 catches gaining 636 yards and a career-best 10 touchdowns to be named All-Big Ten Honorable Mention again.
 
Hill was a consensus four-start recruit out of high school and was named a U.S. Army All-American. He was ranked the No. 1 player in the state of Arkansas and was also a highly regarded basketball player.
 
He graduated from The Ohio State University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in communications.
