
USF Faces Red Division-Leading Cincinnati on Saturday

CINCINNATI, Ohio (October 6, 2006) - Coming off a much-needed 1-0 (OT) victory over FAU at home on Wednesday, Oct. 4, the University of South Florida men's soccer team (6-4-2, 3-2-2 BIG EAST) travels to Cincinnati to face the No. 15-ranked Bearcats (8-3-1, 5-2-0 BIG EAST) on Saturday, Oct. 7.
The Bulls - four points back from Cincinnati in the divisional standings - are looking to gain three points on the Red Division leaders, as well as record the team's fifth road victory (sixth away from the USF Soccer Stadium) this season.
Sophomore Jordan Seabrook leads all USF players with 10 points (4g, 2a) after notching his second game-winning goal of the season during USF's 1-0 overtime win versus FAU. Hermann Trophy candidate Rodrigo Hidalgo (4g, 1a, 9 pts.) is tied for the team lead in goals (with Seabrook) and is looking to repeat his performance against the Bearcats from last season (1g, 1a). Senior Sammy Castellanos possesses the team lead in assists with four this season having registered three in the team's last four outings.
Goalkeeper Dane Brenner notched his fifth shutout of the season during Wednesday's victory, improving his GAA to 0.80 on the year. The High Point, N.C., native will be making his 60th-career appearance for the Bulls on Saturday.
Cincinnati enters Saturday's game having won each of the team's last six games. The Bearcats currently sit atop the BIG EAST's Red Division with a 5-2-0 record (14 pts.) and are led by the scoring duo of Omar Cummings (5g, 9 a, 19 pts.) and Kenny Anaba (5g, 4a, 14 pts.).
USF won the last meeting between the two teams with a 2-1 overtime victory in 2005, taking a slight edge in the series history, 6-5-2.
