TAMPA -- University of South Florida linebacker Brouce Mompremier has been cleared by doctors to return to full weight lifting and conditioning exercises.
He will join his teammates on the practice field Tuesday afternoon, although in a limited capacity that will be determined by the USF Athletic Training Staff.
The Miami native has been sidelined since the FIU game when he was carted off the field by paramedics after a violent collision with teammate Carlton Williams. The official term for his injury is neuropraxia, which is defined as temporary failure of nerve conduction in the absence of structural changes, due to blunt injury, compression, or ischemia.
Mompremier has been cleared of any long-term severe spinal damage and if he returns to full contact participation, he will be at no greater risk for traumatic spinal injury.
No final timetable has been set by the USF Medical Staff and Mompremier a potential return to game action.
