NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -Dominique Jones led the the University of South Florida with 19 points, while Augustus Gilchrist added 12 and Mike Mercer had 10 but it wasn't enough as the Bulls fell 71-52 to Vanderbilt in the SEC/BIG EAST Invitational Tuesday night at the Sommet Center.
The win was Commodores coach Kevin Stallings 300th of his career.
A.J. Ogilvy added 20 points and a game-high 13 rebounds and Jermaine Beal scored 20 points for Vanderbilt. Jeffery Taylor finished with 11 as VU (7-3) won its second straight.
The Commodores grabbed the lead for good on a George Drake layup at 9-7 with 13:05 left in the first half and led 28-22 at halftime. USF (3-5) lost its fourth straight game in the first of a four-game road trip.
Mobolaji Ajayi fouled out for USF with 14:13 left when he was called for his fourth foul, then slammed the ball to the court for a technical.
Jones didn't start due to a sore left ankle that he sprained the day before.

? Sophomore Dominique Jones regrouped after an 8-point outing last game by scoring 19 points vs. Vandy. He tied his season high with seven rebounds.
? Freshman August Gilchrist notched his first career double digit scoring game with 12 points. He also added a team-high eight rebounds. He looked much more comfortable in his second collegiate game.
? Junior guard Mike Mercer finished with 10 points and has scored in double figures in his first two games as a Bull.
