SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. ? The University of South Florida women's tennis team (10-5) swept the Seton Hall Pirates, 7-0, en route to their fourth-straight victory.
The No. 54-ranked Bulls only dropped a combined 10 games of the afternoon to their BIG EAST counterparts.
No. 49-ranked Janette Bejlkova cruised to her eighth-straight victory in as many matches when she defeated Denise Liebschner at the top spot, 6-1, 6-0. The freshman from Clearwater High has settled into her own as of late, winning her last four matches in straight sets, dropping only a combined eight games.
Sophomore Lauren Shumate returned to the lineup for the first time since the Bulls' match against the University of Kentucky. She defeated the Pirates Slavina Kaplanska, 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 6 spot to bring her dual-match record to 6-1on the season.
Jessica Zok (9-5), Liz Cruz (7-6), Iciri Rai (10-5) and Natalia Guevara (7-5) each earned victories for the Bulls on the afternoon.
The Green and Gold will take to the road for the final time this season when they face St. John's on Monday, March 10, at 11 a.m. The match against the Red Storm will be the Bulls fifth BIG EAST regular season contest of the year.
