Unprecedented Fall Sports Coverage

Marcela GurgelTAMPA ? With the fall sports season quickly approaching, USF Athletics is excited to announce its most comprehensive fall sports coverage ever.

For just $9.99 a month, USF fans can watch or listen to a minimum of 47 fall sporting events live on GoUSFBulls.com, the Official USF Athletics website. Subscribers also get live access to the football radio broadcasts (including the pre- and post-game shows), Jim Leavitt's weekly radio show, football's weekly press luncheon and any other press conferences during the fall. Catch 47 is the presenting sponsor of on-line coverage for GoUSFBulls.com.

Fans will be able to follow the USF volleyball team for the entire season as all 30 regular season games and any BIG EAST Tournament or post-season games will have audio available, with at least 14 of the home contests having live video.

In addition to a full volleyball broadcast schedule, women's soccer will have nine home games shown live and men's soccer eight. In addition to the on-line coverage, WBUL 1620 AM, USF's Student Radio Station, will simulcast a majority of the home soccer and volleyball matches. Catch 47 will also televise one game each for volleyball and men's and women's soccer.

“We're pleased about our play-by-play coverage this fall,” said Jim Louk, Assistant Athletic Director/Sales & Broadcasting. “We have talented broadcasters dedicated to each sport for on-line play-by-play, and we have terrific support from WBUL in adding radio simulcasting for many games.  We're looking forward to covering our fall sports more extensively than ever before.”

Austin Bush, in his second year in the USF Athletics Communications office, returns for a second season of broadcast duties. Bush called action for softball last season and will now handle all the volleyball duties. Longtime broadcast veteran Jim Henderson will handle the men's soccer play-by-play, while Garrett Walvoord will call the women's soccer matches. WBUL will also assist by providing a color analyst for the home matches.

In addition to the GoUSFBulls.com coverage, the USF football team already has six games slated for national television on ESPN or ESPN2. The home opener vs. UT Martin on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 7 p.m. will be an ESPN Regional game and shown locally on Catch 47.

Bulls football radio coverage will also be available for every game on flagship station 970 WFLA AM and 10 affiliates statewide. Coverage will include an expanded pre-game show from 90 minutes to two hours as well as a 30 minute post-game show. The pre-game and post-game shows will be the centerpiece of the Bulls Zone interactive and tailgating area outside Raymond James Stadium.

And for the first time ever, USF football will have a Spanish radio partner, as the Bulls and 1300 WQBN AM recently inked a three-year deal. Super Q 1300 A.M. WQBN ? “La Cl?sica de la Bah?a” is a spanish-language station that broadcasts throughout the Tampa Bay area. David Cuevas and Victor Rodriguez, the afternoon drive host and sports director at WQBN, respectively, will call the action.

WQBN 1300 AM - "La super Q" is the oldest Spanish radio station in the Tampa Bay and has pleased every segment of the Hispanic community for more than 50 years. WQBN is 100 percent Hispanic owned and operated.  WQBN has a diverse audience, more than 50 percent of whom are 25 years of age and older.
WBUL will also carry the football games live.

Details and dates for the Jim Leavitt Television and Radio Shows have also been finalized. The half-hour TV show will air on Catch 47, Sun Sports statewide and SportsNet NY, with Catch 47 airing the show multiple times. The hour-long radio show will air live from Moe's Southwest Grill in New Tampa (17509 Preserve Walk Lane) from 7-8 p.m. throughout the season on 1010 WQYK AM. Dates and times of the shows are subject to change. Both shows will also be archived on GoUSFBulls.com.
