
Seabrook Picked 51st In MLS SuperDraft

TAMPA - University of South Florida soccer standout, Jordan Seabrook, has been selected with the 51st pick to the Colorado Rapids in the 2009 Major League Soccer SuperDraft.
Seabrook, a forward from Indianapolis, Ind., led the team with six goals, six assists and 16 points in 2008. The speedy forward started in all 23 games this year. He was named to the All-Northeast Region Second Team and All-BIG EAST Third Team. Seabrook punched in a pair in the BIG EAST quarterfinals (11/9) against Georgetown.
The Colorado Rapids are based in Commerce City, Colorado (a suburb of Denver). The Rapids have made two cup finals in their history, the 1997 MLS Cup and the 1999 U.S. Open Cup, losing both times. In 2008, the Rapids went 11-14-5, with forward Casey Conor leading the team with 11 goals. The Rapids first game will be televised on Fox Soccer Channel on Saturday, March 21 at 8:30 p.m against Chivas USA.
