“By and large we played really good basketball. I'm very happy with the victory. We executed offensively and defensively as well as we did in the last game, and in the last two games, for the first time this season, we've taken less than five challenged shots. Most teams can average around ten to thirty, but that's our goal to average fewer than 5 because that is our Achilles heel.”

On earl Clarks play tonight
“I thought that Edgar Sosa and Terrence Williams knew that Earl Clark had the hot hand, and they came off the pick and rolls looking to get him the ball. Edgar and Terrence were very mature in getting him the ball, because when you come off a pick and roll you have three options, yet each time they looked to find him.”

On Delk and Jennings
“Reginald Delk and Terrence Jennings over the last three days have improved so much. Especially Terrence Jennings. Over the last three days in practice he was our best big man, blocking shots, rebounding, and wanting the ball down low. Reggie really played terrific tonight when Terrence Williams had the two fouls; he gave us a big lift at both ends.”

On the success against South Florida
“It comes down to the fact that we have better talent than they do, but in a couple of years that talent will equal out. USF has a very young team with a lot of players back and the addition of Anthony Crater, who I recruited, will help them.”

“I didn't even really want to look at this box score because I didn't want to see what the free throw shooting looked like. Louisville is too good of a team to go under 50% from the free throw line. We had some shots around the basket as well that we didn't finish, and they sped us up at times, and that fell into their hands. Their depth really fatigued us as the game went on, and Earl Clark was big tonight. He struggled in the Kentucky game, and I figured that he was going to come out very determined and he did. His ability to use inside driving and also three point shooting was a tough matchup for our team.” The league is tough and we just have to continue to get better. I thought we fought pretty hard, we played to the end, and I thought Gilchrist showed some improvement offensively, and we just have to keep helping him on the defensive end.”

On free throw shooting
“I thought that a big part of it was having the wrong people at the line. Also not being able to block out some of the distractions going on, whether its fans or being fatigued or thinking too much, and depending on who is shooting, it's also part technique.”

“As players, the game is over, so we are going to turn around and get ready for another opponent in the BIG EAST, which is going to be tough for us. Also you wish you could rewind the game and correct a lot of the mental breakdowns, but that's impossible. Our age led to some mental breakdowns, and Louisville just shot the ball really well. I know as a team going into the game we didn't expect Earl Clark to come out and hit threes like he did today, but we just have to bounce back and get ready for another opponent.”
