Team Notes
- With USF's 65-58 victory over Davidson (0-2), the Bulls will face the winner of the South Carolina / LaSalle game, which tipped off at 9:30 p.m. The finals will be played on Nov. 22.
- USF is now 2-0 against Davidson after beating the Wildcats tonight coupled with a 96-70 victory over the Wildcats at the Top of the World Classic in Fairbanks, Alaska, in 2000-01.
- Head coach Stan Heath is in his 23rd season of coaching, ninth as a head coach and third at USF. He has posted a 136-118 overall record and is 24-41 at USF. Heath has made three NCAA appearances (2002-Kent State, 2006 and 2007- Arkansas) in his eight-year career.
- After hitting only 4-11 (36.4%) from the free throw line in the first half, USF finished the game 22-34 (64.7%) after draining eight-straight to open the second half.
- The attendance at the second session of the Charleston Classic was 2115.
Individual Notes
- Freshman forward Toarlyn Fitzpatrick scored his first bucket with six minutes left in the first half. He is fouled on the play, but doesn't get to shoot his free throw because junior Jarrid Famous steps in the lane and is whistled for a violation.
- Sophomore Justin Leemow continued his hot streak by hitting his first two threes of the game. He ended the game 2-4 from the arc. Dating back to the Virginia game, when Leemow was 3-for-3 from long range, he hit five consecutive threes.
- With two assists in the game, senior guard Chris Howard moved into sole possession of seventh place on USF's all-time assists list. He started the game with 368, tied with Arthur Caldwell. Jones now trails No. 6 Cedric Smith's 384.
- Sophomore forward Augustus Gilchrist drained 15 free throws in the game, setting personal best marks in free throws made in a game and attempted. The 15 free throws tie Solomon Bozeman's 15 for the second-most in USF history. John Kiser holds the record, set in 1972, with 17.
- After scoring just two points in the first half, Gilchrist ended the night with 21 points, 15 of which were one-by-one.
- Junior guard Dominique Jones recorded his third career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. His last double-double was Jan. 20 against DePaul when he had 26 points and 10 rebounds. He also had 30 points and 14 rebounds at Richmond on Dec. 5, 2007.
- Gilchrist and Jones combined for 29 of USF's 37 second-half points.
