• West Virginia always seems to bring out the best in the Bulls, and it happened again Friday night, as USF defeated the No. 20 Mountaineers, 30-19, at Raymond James Stadium. For his play, senior linebacker Kion Wilson was named the co-National Linebacker of the Week by CollegeFootballPerformance.com after the defense bottled up one of the nation's best running backs. USF popped back into the polls at No. 25 in the BCS standings.
• The Bulls followed the lead of quarterback B.J. Daniels, who led the team with over 330 yards of total offense in an inspired win. Daniels brought hope back to the team as he displayed his full potential Friday night, writes Gary Shelton. After plummeting down to earth in the last two games, writes Tom Zebold in the Lakeland Ledger, Daniels took off against the Mountaineers.
• A renewed confidence in the passing game also greatly contributed to the win, writes new beat writer Scott Carter of the Tampa Tribune. Wide receiver Carlton Mitchell's speed was on full display and was the beneficiary of that passing attack. Running back Moise Plancher had a big game, too, helping USF turn the corner after two straight losses.

• The volleyball team won its fifth straight match, defeating Villanova, 3-0, on the road Friday night. The Bulls are back in action Friday night at The Corrall against Louisville. Men's soccer, meanwhile, ended its regular season with a 2-1 setback at Rutgers Saturday night to earn the league's No. 3 seed. Women's soccer saw its season come to a close with a 5-0 loss at Notre Dame in the second round of the BIG EAST tournament.
