TAMPA - After winning four-straight league games, including two over nationally ranked teams, the University of South Florida Bulls have received two votes in this week's AP Top 25 Poll.
The two votes rank USF unofficially as the 44th best team in the country.
"Our recent streak has moved our team and the program in the right direction," said Coach Heath. "We still have a long way to go, but it's good to see USF's name on the list and receiving votes."
The Bulls have never been listed in the AP Top 25, an honor that is within reach if USF continues to win BIG EAST games, as the league has five teams in the Top 25 and one other receiving votes.
This week's ranked BIG EAST teams include No. 2 Syracuse, No. 4 Villanova, No. 5 West Virginia, No. 7 Georgetown, No. 25 Pittsburgh and Marquette is receiving votes.
USF defeated Georgetown (72-64) and Pittsburgh (70-61) last week and will face Marquette (2/13) and Villanova (2/24) in the next two weeks.
The Bulls wrap up a three-game road stretch on Feb. 13 at Marquette, then return to the Sun Dome for a two-game homestand. Check out USF as it battles Cincinnati on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. and on Feb. 20 against St. John's at Noon.
