October 02, 2011 | Women's Soccer
By TOM ZEBOLD USF Senior Writer TAMPA - The Bulls toughed out their seventh straight overtime game, but came up on the short end Sunday afternoon. Christine Exeter's goal in the first overtime period gave Louisville a 2-1 victory over the USF women's soccer team. USF (5-4-4) struck first in the fourth minute when Taylor Patterson took a pass from Demi Stokes and fired into the upper right corner of the net from about 20 yards out. Louisville (5-5-3) answered about two and a half minutes later on an unassisted goal by Angelika Uremovich from 25 yards out. The score remained unchanged all the way until the 95th minute when Exeter put in a header from 8 yards out on a pass from Devyn Ciotti. Despite the loss, the Bulls got a big boost from backup keeper Summer Ikeda, who posted 12 saves in 83 minutes of work. USF continues its Big East schedule at home Friday against Connecticut at 7:30 p.m.
