USF Women's Hoops To Honor Military

TAMPA - The University of South Florida women's basketball team will honor members of the military on Wednesday night vs. St. John's as part of Military Appreciation Night at the Sun Dome. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
All members of the military, and their families, will receive discounted tickets with a valid military identification card.
Prior to the game the Bulls will honor Lieutenant Colonel Ty Edwards of New Tampa, an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps who was wounded in Afghanistan in October 2008. Lieutenant Colonel Edwards was the Officer in Charge of an Embedded Training Team tasked with advising the Afghan National Army. He, along with his wife Anna, son Mason and daughter Alaina will present the game ball to the officials prior to tip-off.
In addition, members of the USF coaching and support staff will be wearing military green polos with patches of various military branches or squadrons, and players will wear military shooting shirts during warm ups and on the bench.
Members of the USF Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) detachment will present the colors prior to the game, and numerous local high school ROTC detachments will also be in attendance.
