TAMPA – The Bulls look to stay unbeaten at home this season when they take on Memphis 7:30 p.m. Friday at Corbett Stadium.
USF (7-4-3, 2-3-0) is 7-0-2 at Corbett overall and 2-0 in American Athletic Conference play with victories over Temple and UConn. The Bulls have outscored opponents, 19-4, and have given up just one first-half goal on their home turf.
USF is looking to snap a two-game losing streak after falling at Louisville and Cincinnati last weekend and head coach Denise Schilte-Brown is anxious to see how her team responds during their final weekend at home this regular season.
“I'm looking forward to seeing how we handle the adversity. We're at home. We're undefeated. We love it here,” Schilte-Brown said. “We'll have good energy and the girls want to win. It will be exciting to see the personality that comes out and how we'll be prepared.”
Schilte-Brown knows staying unbeaten at home won't be easy with two quality opponents looking to build more momentum at Corbett Stadium.
Memphis (9-5-0, 2-3-0) is looking to extend its winning streak to three after defeating league opponents SMU and Houston. After Memphis, USF will face a Rutgers team that's 11-2-1 overall and 4-1 in the league this season.
Sunday's game against Rutgers will be the final regular season home match for the Bulls this season and the team's five seniors will be honored before the game.
“For a staff, its let's stay focused on the task at hand," Schilte-Brown said. "There are a lot of distractions that come into the final weekend at home with Senior Day and with the Special Olympics on campus. There is a lot that's going on. The challenge is great and I think the girls are up for it. We're going to get after it."
