By JOSH APPEL Special to GoUSFBulls.com TAMPA – Demi Stokes and Sharla Passariello scored on Senior Day for USF in its 2-2 draw with the Rutgers Scarlet Knights (11-3-2, 4-2-1 AAC) Sunday afternoon at Corbett Stadium. USF (8-4-4, 3-3-1 AAC) took down the Memphis Tigers 3-1 on Friday night and looked to sweep the final weekend of home matches. Before the game started, Marsha Harper, Bianca Norman, Hannah Jasurda, Catherine Leibbrandt, and Passariello were honored at midfield to kickoff the Senior Day festivities. “We love them,” head coach Denise Schilte-Brown said. “We love the seniors. They're great girls. We tried to honor them with our behavior, our performance, and our gratitude to them. We really cherish the relationships with all of them.” Rutgers found the back of the net first in the 18th minute when Stefanie Scholz scored on a breakaway from a ball over the top of the USF defense by Madison Tiernan. Demi Stokes cashed in her fifth tally of the season to tie the game in the 55th minute off a corner kick from Passariello. The tie didn't last long, as Tiernan got on the score sheet again just ten minutes later. Brianne Reed sent in an impressive throw in into the box, and Tiernan was there to head it past Christiane Endler. In need of a goal to send the game into overtime, Passariello put home her sixth goal of the season in the 82nd minute after Stokes hit the crossbar. “I just hit it and hoped it went in, “ Passariello said. “It meant a lot. It was a good feeling. In front of my parents, it was the last time they were seeing me play so it meant a lot.” The Bulls and Scarlet Knights couldn't come up with many chances in the two overtime frames, and the game ended in a 2-2 draw. “Four points in the weekend, we can live with,” Schilte-Brown said. “Rutgers is a good team and they fought hard. I thought that we were a strong team and we had some good opportunities. Down the stretch we're seeing a real change in our culture.” USF hits the road for their final two games of the season before the American Athletic Conference tournament. On Oct. 24, the Bulls visit SMU and then they close out the season on Oct. 27 against Houston.
