TAMPA - Victor Rudd posted his sixth double-double of the season in USF's 69-54 loss at St. John's on Wednesday night in Queens, N.Y.
Rudd led USF in scoring for the eighth time this season with 18 points and finished as the top Bull for the 12th time with 11 rebounds. Jawanza Poland scored nine points off the bench for a USF team that started 7-for-28 from the field in its ninth consecutive loss.
JaKarr Sampson scored a game-high 20 points and D'Angelo Harrison added 18 more for St. John's (16-10, 8-6). Sir'Dominic Pointer posted 12 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to help the Red Storm snap a two-game losing streak.
USF (10-16, 1-13) stays on the road to face Pittsburgh at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 27 before returning to the Sun Dome to host DePaul at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 3.
