By SEAN BAROWS GoUSFBulls.com TAMPA – Sara Nevins pitched a gem as the Bulls won in a pitcher's duel Wednesday night, defeating Boston University, 1-0, at the USF Softball Stadium. Both teams combined for only five hits and one run as USF (17-10)extended their winning streak to 11 games. Lee Ann Spivey drove in the only run of the game with a double to right center field in the second inning to score Ilaura Reeves. Reeves was pinch running for Kenshyra Jackson who led the inning off with an infield single. It was Spivey's fifth double and team leading 18th run batted in this season. That would be all Nevins would need as she pitched 6 2/3 innings and gave up only two hits while striking out eight for her seventh win this season. Lindsey Richardson came in and struck out the final batter of the game to pick up her fourth save of the year. D'Anna Devine had the only other hit for the Bulls with a single in the third inning. USF will be back in action at home this Friday for the USF-City of Clearwater Spring Invitational. The Bulls will have a double header against Liberty and Iowa State with first pitch slated for 2:15 p.m.
