No. 61 Bulls Sweep Singles, Beat Missouri

TAMPA, FEB. 23, 2014---The Bulls got off to a slow start on Sunday on the USF Varsity Tennis Courts, but were able to quickly bounce back to beat Missouri 6-1. The Bulls won only one of three doubles matches to lose the doubles point, but the team swept all six singles matches to come away with the victory.
Leading the way in singles were Loreto Alonso-Martinez, Fanny Fracassi, and Vera Bessonova, who all had two-set wins. Alonso defeated Cierra Gaytan-Leach 7-5, 6-2, Fracassi beat Madison Rhyner, 7-5, 6-0, and Bessonova was victorious over Alexandra Clark, 6-1, 6-4. Kayla Rizzolo, Olaya Garrido-Rivas, and Alessandra Bonte all dropped their first set, but fought back to win in three sets.
In doubles, the pair of Olaya Garrido-Rivas and Fanny Fracassi were the only ones to win, defeating Kelli Hine and Madison Rhyner 8-7.
The Bulls are now 6-3 on the season and a perfect 3-0 on the USF Varsity Tennis Courts. The team travels across the country to San Diego, Ca. for matches against San Diego State on Thursday and San Diego on Saturday.
