TAMPA, AUG. 15, 2014 – The USF women's soccer team wrapped up its preseason with a 4-0 win over the Stetson Hatters Friday night at Corbett Stadium. The Bulls were on the board just 30 seconds into the game as sophomore forward Leticia Skeete breezed a shot past Stetson goalkeeper Karlie Hightower to give USF the 1-0 lead. After a foul, senior Daniela Andrade found Jackie Simpson to put the Bulls up 2-0. Skeete increased the lead to 3-0 after she found the back of the net with just over 15 minutes left in the first half. Just moments before halftime, freshman Kelly Harris scored to give USF the 4-0 lead they would hold onto for the remainder of the game. “We really had a lot of numbers get in the game and we learned a lot about our team,” head coach Denise Schilte-Brown said. “We gained a lot of experience and I thought we looked a lot better in possession and moved the ball well.” The Bulls will open the regular season at home against the Florida Atlantic Owls on Friday, Aug. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at Corbett Stadium. “We still have a lot of work to do but I'm very excited about this group,” Schilte-Brown. “They're a very hard working, dedicated group and I think they're going to go a long way.” Follow USF women's soccer on Twitter, Facebook and GoUSFBulls.com for the most up-to-date information throughout the season.
