TAMPA, SEPT. 12, 2014 – USF dropped its second game of the season after Old Dominion scored the game's only goal late in the match to win a tightly contested contest in Norfolk, Va. Ryan Condotta's low strike to the corner with just 1:36 to play in the second half propelled the Monarchs to their second win of the year. It was a close game throughout as the teams finished with nearly identical stats in every major category. Neither team was able to separate themselves in the first half as play was relatively even. The Monarchs (2-2-0) held a slight edge in shots with eight to the Bulls six but both teams posted two shots on goal and four corner kicks in the opening 45 minutes. Edwin Moalosi generated the best chance of the half for USF with a powerful shot in the 10th minute that was saved by ODU goalkeeper Alex Tiesenhausen. Spasoje Stefanovic continued his strong play in goal for the Bulls with two big saves in the first half, including a diving stop late to keep the game scoreless heading into the break. The second half brought much of the same as both teams went back and forth looking for the game's first goal. USF (2-2-0) generated a couple of very good chances throughout the half, none better than Kennedy Selorm Adablah's strike in the 86th minute that went just wide. Marcus Epps nearly had a breakaway midway through the second half after a series of beautiful passes but lost his footing at the last second and the Bulls were unable to capitalize. With only a minute and a half left to play the Monarchs found the back of the net when Condotta corralled a loose ball in the box after a corner kick and placed it in the lower left corner to give ODU the victory. Stefanovic posted five saves and Adablah led the team with five shots on the night. USF now heads back home for two straight matches starting with Brown on Thursday, Sept. 18.
