
Passariello Signs With Bristol Academy

TAMPA, JAN. 21, 2015 – Former USF women's soccer star Sharla Passariello has signed with Bristol Academy and will compete in the Women's Super League this upcoming season.
Passariello, a forward, will play in the highest division of women's soccer in England after starting her career in the Bristol youth system. The Abergavenny, Wales native started at the Bristol Academy Centre of Excellence abd played for the first team as a 16-year-old before competing for and studying at Bristol Academy prior to signing with USF.
"Sharla is a product of BAWFC and is returning to the club following a successful stint at South Florida. She is a strong and powerful striker who will add another dimension to our play,” manager Dave Edmondson said in a Bristol Academy release.
Passariello, a Bull from 2010-13, ranks fifth in program history with 22 career goals and 55 points, and sixth with 11 assists. The former all-conference selection led the Bulls as a senior with 24 points in 20 games and a career-high eight assists. Passariello graduated from USF with a degree in communication in 2013.
Passariello's signing comes less than a month after former USF standout Demi Stokes inked a three-year deal with Manchester City. Read about Stokes HERE.
The USF women's soccer team has posted two consecutive 10-plus win seasons and three in the last four years under head coach Denise Schilte-Brown. The Bulls made their first NCAA tournament appearance and recorded their first tournament victory in 2010. USF returns 23 players from last year's roster including All-American Athletic Conference second team forward Demi Stokes and All-Rookie Team defender Leticia Skeete. They also bring back 11 players that appeared in 15 or more games last season.
