Williams Propels Team USA to Gold Medal Game

TAMPA, JULY 11, 2015 - America may not have been up quite yet, but senior guard Courtney Williams was fully awake and in top form in South Korea this morning, dropping 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to help push Team USA to a double-overtime 102-98 win over Japan in the World University Games Semifinals.

Williams helped the United States crawl back from an early 15-point deficit, sinking two free throws late in the second overtime period to secure the win and send Team USA to the Gold Medal game, set for 5 a.m. Eastern Time Monday against Canada.

Williams played 43 minutes in the win, adding a team-high five assists and three steals to her totals. She was one of four players to record a double-double in the win, and has been one of the key leaders on the team this tournament, averaging 10.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game.
