
Donovan Caps Off Summer With Gold Medal at JWWC

OKLAHOMA CITY, Aug. 19, 2015 – USF softball standout Astin Donovan and the USA Softball Junior Women's National Team capped off a fantastic summer with a gold medal at the WBSC Junior Women's World Championship in Oklahoma City on Sunday.
Team USA completed its dominant run through the tournament by defeating Japan, 8-1, in the gold-medal game. Donovan, who will be a sophomore this year for the Bulls, helped lead the Red, White and Blue to a tournament best .425 team batting average.
The U.S. outscored its opponents, 119-6, while posting a perfect 10-0 record in the tournament. The title marked the fifth time Team USA has won the Junior Women's World Championship, tying Japan for the most all-time.
