
Bulls Cruise Past Seton Hall, 6-1

TAMPA (March 2, 2016) – The USF women's tennis team looked sharp Wednesday afternoon at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts, as they defeated Seton Hall, 6-1.
The Bulls (3-5) opened the afternoon with strong play as they swept the doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead. USF looked focused from the start and continued their strong play into singles.
Sophomore Juliana Cardoso (Descalvado, Brazil) was dominant on court four for the Bulls, as she did not drop a point in her match. Cardoso defeated her opponent in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Junior Vera Bessonova (Moscow, Russia) quickly followed by securing the fourth point for USF, as she won 6-1, 6-0.
Vanja Klaric (Serbia) continued her stellar freshman season for the Bulls. Klaric earned a decisive straight set victory by defeating her opponent 6-0, 6-1. The win now moves Klaric to 6-0 in singles play this season.
Ana Roman Dominguez (Spain) also came out strong for the Bulls. Dominguez was forced to a third set tie-break but defeated her opponent 6-1, 6-7, 1-0 (7-3). USF freshman Nicole Dzenga (Harare, Zimbabwe) took her opponent to lengthy third set tie-break, but she ultimately fell 7-6, 3-6, 0-1 (14-12).
The Bulls are back in action Tuesday, March 8, as they host Penn State at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts at noon. Admission is free to the public.
