
Bulls Down Penn State, Earn Second Straight Win

TAMPA (March 8, 2016) - The USF women's tennis team defeated Penn State, 4-0, Tuesday afternoon at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts to earn it's second straight victory.
The Bulls (4-5) jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by clinching the doubles point. The point was secured by the USF pairing of Vanja Klaric (Serbia) and Chloe Murphy (England) who won their match in a tie break 7-6 (7-5).
Klaric continued her great play straight into singles. She looked impressive and took her match in straight sets 6-0, 6-3. The win now puts Klaric at a perfect 7-0 in singles play this season.
The third point for the Bulls was secured by sophomore Juliana Cardoso (Descalvado, Brazil). Cardoso controlled the match from the start and easily defeated her opponent 6-2, 6-1. The win for Cardoso moves her to 4-3 on the season in singles play.
The final point of the afternoon was clinched by USF junior Olga Martinez (Barcelona, Spain) in the No. 3 spot. Martinez was sharp as she defeated her opponent in straight sets 6-3, 6-2.
The Bulls are back in action Friday, March 11, as they take on Troy at the USF Varsity Tennis Courts at noon. Admission for all home matches are free to the public.
