Box Score LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 25, 2016)— Don't call it a comeback.
Call it sticking to the team motto of “take care of business.” The USF women's soccer team did just that Thursday night, notching a 3-2 win over Kentucky to remain undefeated.
Trailing 2-0, No. 23 USF (3-0-0) would respond with three unanswered goals, two in the second half, to clinch an incredible win on the road.
Sophomore Jordan Tuttle gave USF the lead in the 61st minute on an assist from freshman Evelyne Viens. From just inside the 18-yard line, Tuttle found the back of the net, slotting the ball just out of the reach of the Kentucky keeper.
The Wildcats (0-2-1) took a 2-0 lead after goals in the 10th and 24th minute. The 2-0 lead would be cut in half as the Bulls countered just 44 seconds later with a goal of their own.
In the 24th minute, Viens found the back of the net to cut the USF deficit to just one goal. From the top of the box, Viens spun around a Kentucky defender to net her first goal of the season.
Similar to Sunday's game against FIU, senior Leticia Skeete was quick to score in the second half of play. On a free kick by Andrea Hauksdottir, Skeete turned a defender and found the lower left corner of the net to tie the game at 2-all in the 52nd minute.
