Bulls Reach Highest Ranking Since 2008
Bulls ranked No. 13 in Coaches Poll and No. 16 in AP Top 25 Poll
Extend program record streak with 12th straight poll appearance
TAMPA, OCT 15, 2017 – Following a 33-3 rout of Cincinnati on Saturday, the Bulls third straight 30-plus point victory, USF (6-0; 3-0 American) reached its highest poll ranking since 2008.
USF checked in at No. 13 in the Amway Coaches Poll and No. 16 in the AP Top 25 Poll, the No. 13 ranking marking USF's highest since being ranked No. 10 in both the AP and Coaches polls in Week 5 of the 2008 season.
USF remains one of just eight unbeaten teams in FBS football, joining No. 1 Alabama (7-0), No. 2 Penn State (6-0), No. 3 Georgia (7-0), No. 4 TCU (6-0), No. 5 Wisconsin (5-0) No. 8 Miami (5-0) and No. 20 UCF (5-0).
The Bulls, who are riding a school-record 11-game win streak that ranks as the longest in the nation, extended their school record streak of poll appearances to 12 straight. The Bulls' 6-0 start equals the program's best ever (2007) and USF will look to go 7-0 for the first time in program history Saturday at Tulane (3-3; 1-1 American). That game has been set for a 7 p.m. kickoff on ESPN2.
The Bulls extended their nation-leading streak of games scoring 30-plus points to 23 on Saturday, equaling the longest streak on record since 1936 (23 by Oregon in 2011-12).
USF scored two rushing touchdowns for the 23
rd straight game on Saturday and continue to rank in the top 10 in the nation in both rushing offense and defense. The Bulls rank third nationally allowing just 77.8 rushing yards per game and eighth running for 293 yards per game.
The USF defense has collected at least two turnovers in every game this season and the Bulls continue to lead the nation with 15 interceptions on the year after senior linebacker
Auggie Sanchez returned an interception 65 yards for a touchdown Saturday, marking his second straight game with an interception return for a touchdown. USF's 18 turnovers gained on the year rank second nationally and the Bulls stand 12
th in the nation in total defense allowing just 290.3 yards per game.

USF finished the 2016 season ranked No. 19 in the Associated Press poll with a school-record 11 wins following the program's fifth-ever bowl victory in the Birmingham Bowl. The Bulls' 11-2 record marked the fifth-best winning percentage in FBS football in 2016 and one of just 11 teams to reach 11 wins. USF set nearly 40 team and individual records in 2016, including team records for total yards (6,650), rushing yards (3,714), touchdowns (77) and scoring (569). Quarterback Quinton Flowers was named the American Conference Offensive Player of the Year and led a school-record 10 players named to the all-conference team, six of which, including Flowers, returned in 2017.
