Villavicencio Ties for Sixth Place at USF Intercollegiate

LUTZ, Fla., OCT. 31, 2017 –
Natalia Villavicencio posted her first top-10 finish with the program to lead the Bulls at the USF Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
Villavicencio tied for sixth place out of 74 competitors in USF's final event of the fall at TPC Tampa Bay (par 71, 6,145 yards). The junior transfer from Western Carolina University led the Bulls with two top-25 finishes in four events this fall.
USF placed ninth out of 14 programs in its fourth consecutive top-10 finish. Head coach
Tiffany Prats' Bulls got a big boost on the final day from
Maria "Nani" Merchan. The junior from Caracas, Venezuela carded a 75 in the final round and moved up 11 spots to a tie for 28
th place.
Senior
Diana Gonzalez Pinto (Bogota, Colombia) also tied for 28
th place after carding a 78 in the second and third rounds. Gonzalez led USF's "B" team in her first event of the season.

- Natalia Villavicencio tied for the tournament lead with a par-5 scoring average of 4.89 (-1). Villavicencio shot par or better on 36 total holes.
- Maria "Nani" Merchan led the Bulls with six total birdies, one off the tournament lead. Freshman Haley Danford (Longwood, Fla.) collected five birdies.
