Listro Signs with U.D.G Tenerife in Spain

Recent graduate Jordyn Listro will join Union Deportiva Granadilla Tenerife, a team in the highest level of league competition for Spanish women.

TENERIFE, Spain (June 22, 2017)— Union Deportiva Granadilla Tenerife, a Spanish professional team in the Primera Division, signed recent USF graduate Jordyn Listro for the 2017-18 season. The Canadian midfielder played four full seasons for the Bulls, and was a force on the field.

Listro is no stranger to U.D.G. Tenerife after her former teammate Jackie Simpson joined the club last year, and recently extended her contract. The team will begin preseason play in July.

"I hope to be able to contribute and learn a lot from my new partners and adapt as quickly as possible," said Listro. "I will begin to take Spanish classes to understand myself as soon as possible with the teammates."

Listro played four seasons and a total of 82 games for USF, setting the school record for games played. She had five assists throughout her career, and during her senior season she helped the Bulls to keep a perfect record longer than any other team in the nation with eight straight wins.

"It is a personal and professional adventure, and I am very excited about this new opportunity," said Listro. "I have followed La Reina Cup with a lot of excitement and I think this club will continue to grow in the next few years."
