October Home Meet Highlights USF’s Cross Country Schedule
TAMPA, JULY 21, 2017 – Five in-state meets, including the annual USF Invitational, will be featured on the Bulls' 2017 cross country schedule, which was released on Friday.
The USF Invitational will be held on Friday, Oct. 13 at The Claw, the school's golf course near campus. The women's 5k will begin at 5 p.m. with the men's 8k starting at 5:45 p.m. The USF Invitational will be the team's fifth meet of the season, following four other in-state competitions.
"For the second straight year, we are competing mostly in the state of Florida, which is again filled with some tremendous cross country programs," said head coach Dena Reif. "The men's team will feature more depth with three of our top six runners returning plus three new signees. We only have one of our top five runners back on the women's team but we do have an eager crew ready to make their mark."
The season begins with the Holloway Park Preseason Festival on Sept. 2 and the UNF Invitational on Sept. 9. USF will then visit Gainesville, Fla. for the Mountain Dew Invitational on Sept. 23 and the FSU Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla. on Oct. 6.
Following the USF Invitational, the Bulls will travel to Temple for The American Championship on Oct. 28. The NCAA South Regionals will be hosted by the University of Alabama on Nov. 10.
