Cross Country Returns With Meet at Embry-Riddle
September 15, 2017 | Cross Country
TAMPA, SEPT. 15, 2017 – The USF cross country team is excited to return to action on Saturday, when the Bulls will compete in the Asics Embry-Riddle Classic.
When Hurricane Irma prevented the Bulls from participating in the UNF Classic, the Bulls altered their schedule to instead run at Embry Riddle on Sept. 16.
The event begins with the men's 8k at 7:20 a.m. and will be followed by the women's 5k at 7:50 a.m.
This will be the first cross country meet for USF since the season-opening Holloway Park Preseason Festival on Sept. 2. Senior John Weaver (Jacksonville, Fla.) finished first for the USF men. His time of 16:29.76 was the 10th-fastest time overall. Freshman Rania Samhouri (Tampa) was the top female finisher in the women's 3k, and seventh overall, with a time of 11:07.68.
