Bulls Open Conference Play at ECU
TAMPA (Sept. 20, 2017) — The University of South Florida women's soccer team looks to deliver head coach
Denise Schilte-Brown her 200
th career win when the Bulls open conference play at East Carolina on Thursday at 7 p.m.
Last season, the Bulls defeated ECU at home when senior defender
Grace Adams scored the game-winner in overtime. The comeback victory was Schilte-Brown's 100
th win at USF.
After a brief break in play due to Hurricane Irma, the Bulls returned to the pitch and earned a 1-0 shutout over Howard last week.
Evelyne Viens (L'ancienne-Lorette, Canada) scored the winning goal for USF in the 29
th minute. She now has five goals this season, and 21 in her career after less than two seasons. The shutout also marked senior keeper
Kat Elliott's (Bradenton, Fla.) first of the season.
The Opponent
The Pirates are undefeated at home this season with three wins and two tied games, including an intense 1-1 draw with University of Virginia, which was ranked No. 5 at the time. The Bulls lead the series against ECU, 8-2-1.

The USF women's soccer team has posted five consecutive seasons of 10-plus wins and six in the last seven years under head coach Denise Schilte-Brown. Schilte-Brown reached her 100th win with USF last season, and will begin her eleventh season as head coach in 2017. The Bulls made their first NCAA tournament appearance in 2010 and returned in 2014 & 2015.
