TAMPA, SEPT. 29, 2017 – The University of South Florida men's soccer team returns to Corbett Stadium Saturday when it hosts Cincinnati in American Athletic Conference action. The match is set for 7 p.m.
 
Saturday is the Bulls' Camper Reunion event and the team will welcome all campers from this past summer to Corbett. The Taste of Tampa Bay menu features the Shanghai Fresh Food truck and chili dogs will be sold at the concession stand. The American match will be streamed via Facebook Live.
 
USF (4-3-1, 1-0 The American) has not lost a match since Sept. 8 and looks to remain perfect at Corbett Stadium with a 4-0 record at home. The Bulls have outscored opponents 10-4 in their last four matches and are averaging 1.88 goals per game this season. In their last outing, the Bulls played to a 1-1 draw with No. 8 Louisville.
 
Adrian Billhardt (Berlin, Germany) leads USF with 11 points (3 goals, 5 assists) this season. Bradley Farias (Indiantown, Fla.) follows with nine points (3 goals, 3 assists). Junior Christian Knight (Odessa, Fla.) has earned the last four starts for the Bulls and has recorded 19 saves in close to 400 minutes of action. Knight tallied a career high eight saves at No. 8 Louisville Tuesday.
 
The Opponent
Cincinnati (5-3-1, 0-1-0 The American) has won three of its last four matches, including two road wins over then No. 13 Kentucky, 1-0, and No. 19 Bowling Green, 3-1. The Bearcats are led by David Sanz, who sits second in the league with five goals this season. Cincinnati's goal keeper Pearce Skinner has made a conference best 34 saves and his 4.86 saves per game ranks second in the league.
 
Saturday's match marks the 25th meeting between the Bearcats and the Bulls. USF owns a 12-7-5 series record and a 6-2-2 record in Tampa. The Bulls have not dropped a home decision to Cincinnati since Sept. 10, 1999, when the Bearcats picked up a 2-1 victory.
 
Notables
  • The Bulls average a conference best 2.25 assists per game which ranks eighth nationally. Their 18 assists rank 14th in the country. Billhardt's 0.71 assists per game ranks ninth in Division I.
  • USF has reached 13+ shots in five matches this season. At Corbett Stadium, the Bulls average 15.75 shots per game.
  • The Bulls have turned in two shutouts this season and both have been at home. (Aug. 28, 3-0 vs. Lipscomb and Sept. 17, 1-0 vs. LMU)
  • Tomasz Skublak and Adrian Billhardt earned their first conference honors at USF after combining for four goals and four assists, the league announced Monday. The pair led the Bulls to a 2-0 week, including a War on I-4 overtime win to open American Athletic Conference action.
 
On Dec. 18 Bob Butehorn was appointed the head coach the USF men's soccer program. A member of the University of Tampa's 1981 national championship team and a three-time conference coach of the year, Butehorn previously led Florida Gulf Coast University's men's soccer program to six conference regular season championships, four NCAA Tournament appearances and Top 25 rankings in five seasons since 2010.
 
The Bulls concluded the season as The American regular season champions and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The Bulls finished the season with a 10-6-4 overall record and a 6-1-0 mark in the American Athletic Conference.
