BLOOMINGTON, IND., SEPT. 3, 2017 – The University of South Florida men's soccer battled No. 7 Indiana Sunday night and lost 3-0 at the Adidas/IU Credit Union Classic.
The first half of Sunday's match belonged to USF (1-2). In their third match in seven days, the Bulls capitalized on a fast pace offense and out-shot the Hoosiers 10-6. Indiana (4-0) scored in the 14
th minute, but after the goal there was a clear momentum shift toward the Bulls. USF maintained possession and only allowed two Hoosier shots in the final 30 minutes of the half.
In the 62
nd minute, a hand ball was called in the box on the Bulls and Indiana scored its second goal on a penalty kick. The Hoosiers sealed their fourth straight victory in the 81
st minute for a 3-0 win.
Alex Zis (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) led the Bulls' attack with three shots while
Gonzalo Rodriguez (Coustituciou, Chile),
Adrian Billhardt (Berlin, Germany) and
Tomasz Skublak (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada) each added two.

A member of the University of Tampa's 1981 national championship team and a three-time conference coach of the year, Butehorn previously led Florida Gulf Coast University's men's soccer program to six conference regular season championships, four NCAA Tournament appearances and Top 25 rankings in five seasons since 2010.
The Bulls concluded the season as The American regular season champions and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The Bulls finished the season with a 10-6-4 overall record and a 6-1-0 mark in the American Athletic Conference.
