nd week ranked in the top 20.
Â
The Bulls posted 611 yards of offense on Saturday in a 38-30 victory over UConn to improve to 7-0 and equal the program's best-ever start to a season for the second straight year. USF remains one of two unbeaten and Top 25 ranked teams in the East Division of the American Athletic Conference. The Bulls are joined by No. 10/10 UCF (7-0), which comes to Raymond James Stadium for the War on I-4 on Fri., Nov. 23.
Â
USF will travel to Houston (6-1; 3-0 American) Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. (ET) kickoff that will be nationally televised on ABC and ESPN2 in selected markets. Junior
Jordan Cronkrite (Miami) posted his fifth straight 100-yard rushing game on Saturday, collecting 103 yards, to equal the program record also held by
Quinton Flowers (2016) and Marlon Mack (2015). Freshman
Johnny Ford (Miami) had a career-best game running for a team-best 164 yards and three touchdowns as USF produced 346 rushing yards on the day. Redshirt freshman
Randall St. Felix led the Bulls with 123 yards and a 75-yard touchdown receiving, while redshirt freshmen
Mekhi LaPointe (11) and
Nick Roberts (10) led the Bulls in tackles, with Roberts also adding an interception.
Â
With 880 yards and six touchdowns on the year, Cronkrite is well on his way to posting the ninth 1,000-yard rushing season in program history and becoming just the fifth Bull to accomplish the feat. The Bulls have been ranked in the top 10 nationally in rushing in each of the previous three seasons and have had a 1,000-yard rusher for a program record four straight seasons.
Â
USF has gone 13-2 away from Tampa (10-2 in true road games) in the last three seasons and has won six of its last seven conference road games. USF has won four straight road games vs. AAC West Division foes. The Bulls are averaging 40.8 ppg in their last 15 games away from Tampa, failing to score at least 30 just twice.
Â
The Bulls are 35-6 in their last 41 games overall, a mark that is tied with Ohio State and Oklahoma for the third-best mark nationally over each team's last 41 contests, trailing only Alabama (39-2), Clemson (37-4).
