TAMPA, NOV. 20, 2018 – Former USF center
Austin Reiter was right in the middle of the highest scoring game in Monday Night Football history.

The third-year pro made his fourth consecutive start for the Kansas City Chiefs in their 54-51 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in a game that was easily an instant classic. It marked the first time in NFL history both teams scored at least 50 points in the same game and Reiter had a hand in 99 percent of the Chiefs' offensive plays on top of making eight snaps on special teams.
Social media was buzzing as both teams combined to score 14 touchdowns in a wild showdown between 9-1 teams that included 1,001 yards of offense, 144 plays, 56 first downs and six lead changes (four in fourth quarter). Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes made more NFL history by throwing six touchdown passes in a Monday night game.
Reiter has made several trips to the end zone in the past six games with Kansas City after being acquired off waivers in early September. Reiter has played in 23 NFL regular season games (five starts) with Kansas City and Cleveland after getting his pro start with Washington in 2016.
Prior to the NFL, Reiter (Bradenton, Fla.) was a two-time Rimington Award candidate with the Bulls and started 36 straight games at center from 2012-14. Â
