
Viens, Hauksdottir Named to United Soccer Coaches All-South Region First Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo., Nov. 27, 2018 — USF women's soccer's Evelyne Viens and Andrea Hauksdottir were named to the All-South Region First Team by the United Soccer Coaches.
Viens (Canada), named to the first team for the second straight season, has appeared in every match since she arrived at USF for a total of 57. This season, Viens claimed three USF program records including goals in a season (20) career goals (48) and points in a season (47).
Viens' all-region selection isn't her first accolade this season. She started the season on the MAC Hermann watch list, was named The American Preseason Offensive Player of the Year and was unanimous selection to the preseason all-conference team. Viens was also a regular season all-conference unanimous selection and The American Offensive Player of the Year. She was the United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week once (Oct. 15), and has been named The American player of the week twice and honor roll four times.
The star striker for the Bulls leads the nation in goals per game (1.05), points per game (2.47), total goals (20) and total points (47).
Hauksdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland) ranked second on the team in assists with seven this season. The American Midfielder of the Year has started all 57 games since arriving at USF in 2016 and has been instrumental in the Bulls' midfield. In the 2018 season, Hauksdottir netted five goals and recorded 17 points. She was a perfect 2-for-2 in penalty kicks and played the most minutes with 1,632.
This season, Hauksdottir was named to The American Preseason All-Conference team and the All-Conference First Team in addition to her midfielder of the year honors. Last season, Hauksdottir was named to the all-region second team.
