Bulls Defeat Wildcats 79-36

TAMPA, Fla.,  Nov. 30, 2018 – Powered by five scorers in double figures, USF defeated New Hampshire 79-36 on Friday night at the Yuengling Center in front of a season-high 4,992 fans. 
 
Freshman Beatriz Jordao (Pombal, Portugal), pushed the Bulls (6-2) over the Wildcats (1-7) with a game-high 17 points and eight rebounds, but it was Alyssa Rader (Thornton, Colo.) who racked up a double-double in just 20 minutes of play with 10 points and a season-high 13 rebounds on the night. 
 
Senior Laura Ferreira (Lisboa, Portugal) had a nice line of her own with 13 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and no turnovers in the dominating win. Freshman Sydni Harvey (Nashville, Tenn.) had 11 points and five assists on the night for her fifth consecutive game scoring in double figures. Shae Leverett rounded out the double figure scoring with 12 points on the night, just one point shy of her career-high 13, and six rebounds on her line. 
 
Enna Pehadzic (Horsens, Denmark) had a career high nine points in the victory, while Janeta Rozentale (Dobeles, Latvia) picked up a career high seven points of her own. Tamara Henshaw (Palm Coast, Fla.) rounded out the scoring with two points. 
 
After a slow start in the first five minutes, USF recovered in the first quarter media timeout and emerged with a 16-0 run, closing the first period with a 21-7 advantage. A 31-11 halftime lead propelled USF to victory, and the Wildcats never got back within single digits. 
 
Rebounding has been a key for the Bulls this season who out-performed the Wilcats on the glass 55 to 26 on the night. USF showcased 50 percent shooting from the field on a 31-of-62 clip. Freahman Jordao boasted a 72.7 percent shooting efficiency of her own on an 8-of-11 clip, which improves her conference-leading season field goal percentage to 68.8 percent on the year.
