Three Bulls Advance to Niceville Futures Main Draw

NICEVILLE, Fla., Nov. 7, 2018 – Sophomore Pierre Luquet and freshman Chase Ferguson won four straight matches in the Niceville Futures qualifying draw to punch their ticket to the main draw.
 
Neither Luquet nor Ferguson dropped a single set in the qualifying draw, each winning four straight matches. Luquet (Draguignan, France) dominated opponents from Italy, Mexico, Colombia and Great Britain to earn his spot in the main draw. Ferguson (Melbourne, Australia) downed opponents from the United States, Switzerland, and Spain. His final match in the qualifying draw was a solid 6-2, 6-2, win over one of the top American players, Will Grant, the second-seed in the draw.
 
Ivan Yatsuk (Minsk, Belarus) and Jakub Wojick (Delray Beach, Fla.) each participated in the qualifying draw, picking up three wins before losing in the final round of qualifying. Wojick won his second round when he clawed back from a 5-1 deficit in the third set to defeat Jordan Chiu (United States), 6-3, 2-6, 7-5. In the third round, he defeated Jan Galka (Poland) in three-set battle, 2-6, 7-5, 7-6(2).
 
Yatsuk battled to three wins over opponents from before a tough loss in the final round of the qualifying draw. He took on opponents from China, the United States and Denmark. In the final round he battled Cannon Kingsley, currently ranked No. 36 in the world in juniors, to three sets but ultimately fell, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3.
 
Senior Alberto Barroso Campos (Montijo Spain), who qualified automatically based on world ranking, will join Luquet and Ferguson in main draw action.
