Bulls Claim Victory at USF Women’s Interconference

TAMPA, Feb. 19, 2018 – The University of South Florida sailing team had a strong start to the spring campaign, winning the year's first regatta at the USF Women's Interconference in St. Petersburg.
The Bulls outlasted nine other teams from seven different states, en route to their fourth top-10 finish of 2017-18.
Jacksonville University took second, followed by Eckerd College, Salve Regina and University of California Berkeley.

The Bulls are back in action in two weeks at the Old Dominion Spring Women's Regatta in Norfolk, Va., March 3-4.
About USF Sailing
The USF sailing program has reached the national finals in five of the last six years. The Bulls finished in the top 10 during the 2012 and 2013 seasons. The sailing team is based out of St. Petersburg and led by head coach Allison Jolly, a 2016 Florida Sports Hall of Fame inductee.

- The B division of freshman Marina Barzaghi (Saunderstown, R.I.) and junior Darby Capellin (Bradenton, Fla.) finished first overall, besting the second place team by 31 points.
- The A division of sophomore Delaney Brown (West Palm, Fla.) and junior Rachel Yannelli (Woodcliff Lake, N.J.) finished fourth overall.
- This marks USF's sixth top-three finish at this event in the last seven years and its third overall victory.
