Two Bulls Earn All-Conference Honors on Day Two of AAC Indoors
BIRMINGHAM, Ala., FEB. 24, 2018 – The Bulls wrapped up a successful American Athletic Conference Indoor Championship with two more student-athletes earning all-conference honors. For the two-day event, USF finished with five top-three performances and had one new school record. In the conference championship, a top-three finish automatically earns all-conference distinction.
Junior
Raekwon Scott gave the Bulls an exciting start to the day, setting a new meet record with a time of 8.24 seconds in the heptathlon 60-meter hurdles to win the event. The time is the eighth-best hurdle time ever in indoor competition for USF. For the seven-event heptathlon, Scott placed third with a score of 5,333, improving his USF-best score and taking the second-best heptathlon mark in USF history.
D'angelo Ennis was the second Bull to earn all-conference honors on the day, placing second in the men's triple jump with a mark of 50-4.50. The mark is a new USF-best for Ennis, and was just 13 centimeters short of the first place finisher.
In the team results, where any top-eight individual performance earns points towards the team total, the women's team placed ninth out of 12 teams, their best performance since finishing eighth in the inaugural year of the American Athletic Conference, 2014. The men's team placed seventh.
