USF Travels to Texas for Road Swing against No. 18 TCU and No. 12 Baylor
TAMPA (Feb. 8, 2018) – The USF men's tennis team will head to Texas to take on against head coach
Ashley Fisher's alma mater No. 18 TCU on Friday at 6:30 p.m., and No. 12 Baylor on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Bulls (2-4) split last Sunday with a dominant 4-1 win over Boston College, but fell short after a hard-fought 4-3 loss to Harvard.
Doubles is coming off impressive consecutive wins last Sunday against Boston College and Harvard, and looks to continue the streak heading into the weekend.
Peter Bertran (Santiago, Dominican Republic) and
Jakub Wojcik (Delray Beach, Fla.) won on court 2 to clinch the doubles point for the Bulls against Harvard. USF is the only team this season to clinch a doubles point versus Harvard and looks to keep the success rolling Friday against TCU.

Grayson Goldin (Bradenton, Fla.) and junior
Alberto Barroso-Campos (Montijo, Spain) have also proved strong for the Bulls in doubles, coming off another big win against Harvard, improving their doubles record to (4-1) this season.
Scouting the Opponent:
No. 18 TCU
Coming off a close loss to No. 3 North Carolina on Tuesday, the Horned Frogs look to bounce back against the Bulls. TCU approaches the weekend holding a 3-2 record thus far this season.
The Horned Frogs boast three ranked singles players, including No. 25 Alastair Gray, No. 36 Alex Rybakov, and No. 80 Trevor Johnson. USF will see a very talented TCU doubles lineup on Friday, led by the No. 16 ranked doubles pair of Gray and Rybakov. Another ranked duo for the Horned Frogs includes Rybakov and Guillermo Nunez at No. 53. Another strong pair to watch for is Reese Stalder and Bertus Kruger, as they hold a 4-0 mark this season. TCU defeated the Bulls last April in Fort Worth, Texas., but the Bulls look to redeem themselves come Friday evening.
No. 12 Baylor
No. 12 Baylor suffered its first loss of the season to Ole Miss last Sunday. The Bears now hold a 4-1 record as they return home to host Purdue on Saturday. Following their match with Purdue, Baylor will take on the Bulls Sunday at 2 p.m.
Baylor edged USF in a nail-biter last March as the match went to a third set, and two tiebreakers on the very last court before the Bears came out victorious. Baylor enters the weekend with four ranked singles players and two ranked doubles pairs. In singles, No. 24 Johannes Schretter, No. 64 Bjoern Peterson, No. 89 Sven Lah, and No. 104 Will Little. Their ranked doubles pairs consist of No. 12 Schretter and Little and No. 45 Jimmy Bendeck and Petersen. The Horned Frogs' Little, Lah, and Roy Smith all enter Friday with a record of 4-0 in singles action during the dual-match season.

After this weekend's road swing in Texas, the Bulls will enjoy a week off at home before traveling a short distance to Orlando, Fla., to take on No. 19 Oklahoma at a neutral site on Feb. 23.

Head coach Ashley Fisher will begin his second year at the helm of the program for the 2018 season after leading the Bulls to a conference championship and the NCAA tournament in his first year as head coach during the 2017 season. The USF men's tennis program has won four consecutive American Athletic Conference Championships and advanced to four straight NCAA tournaments.
