Bulls Beat Brown, 6-1, Stretch Win Streak to 9
TAMPA (March 25, 2018) — The USF women's tennis team defeated Brown University, 6-1, for its ninth-straight win on the season.
At No. 4 singles, Klaric clinched the win for the Bulls in an intense three-set match, 0-6, 6-4, 6-4.
After the Bulls won the doubles point,
Evelyne Tiron (Bucharest, Romania) won in straight sets on court two giving up zero games in the second set, 6-4, 6-0, against Maddie Sterns. Cardoso won in three sets on court six, 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
Dzenga also won 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 on court five, and Dominguez won at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 4-6, 1-0.
The Bulls (11-7, 4-1) went into singles with the 1-0 advantage after winning the doubles point. As a pair, juniors
Nicole Dzenga (Harare, Zimbabwe) and
Vanja Klaric (Gaborone, Botswana) started the match with a, 6-2, win on court one.
At No. 2 doubles,
Juliana Cardoso (Descalvado, Brazil) and
Jessica Cortes Chaves (Monterrey, Mexico) clinched the doubles point, 6-2.

"I thought that was a really tough match. We did a really good job of starting off well in doubles. It was nice to see up in all three [courts]. In the singles, they fought really hard. I don't think it was really anything that we weren't doing. They were kind of taking it to us, and I think we did a good job of weathering the storm and then being able to finish a little bit better on most of the courts."
