Bulls Head South to Face No. 40 FIU

TAMPA (April 12, 2018) -- The USF women's tennis team travels to Miami, Fla. to head up No.40 FIU in last regular season match on Friday at 1 pm.

The Bulls (11-9, 4-2) are coming off a loss to No. 41 Rice.
 
Junior Ana Roman Dominguez (Burgos, Spain) defeated the Owl's only ranked singles player, No. 119 Wendy Zhang in straight set, 6-4, 6-1, at the No. 2 spot.
 
As a pair, juniors Vanja Klaric (Gaborone, Botswana) and Nicole Dzenga (Harare, Zimbabwe) extended their overall winning streak to eight with a doubles' win on court one against No. 31 Lindsey Hodge and Zhang, 6-2.  
 
Scouting the Opponent: 
No. 40 FIU
The Panthers (12-2) boast a ranked singles player, No. 7 Andrea Lazaro, and a top 25 doubles pair, No. 23 Ulyana Grib and Maryna Veksler.
 
With a 10-2 overall record at the No. 1 spot, No. 7 Lazaro has extended her win streak to six.  
 
Last year, the Bulls faced the Panthers twice, one home and one away, and fell both times. In the away match, it was 4-0, and in the home match it was 6-1.  
 
FIU's Andrea Lazaro and Nerma Caluk have remained undefeated on all courts, 13-0.

Cristina Moros will be in her third year at the helm of after leading the program to an American Athletic Conference Championship in 2017.
