TAMPA, MAY 26, 2018
– No. 23 USF's Claudio Correa and Cristian DiMarco earned more recognition for their standout senior seasons by being named to the Division I PING All-Southeast Region Team on Saturday.

Correa collected the third all-region honor of his career from the Golf Coaches Association of America after leading the Bulls to their fourth straight American Athletic Conference Championship title in wire-to-wire fashion.

24829Correa was named conference player of the year after capturing The American tournament's individual crown with a three-shot victory on April 24. The Santiago, Chile native led the Bulls with six top-10 finishes and 11 top-25 performances after tying for 14th place at the NCAA Kissimmee Regional. Correa's season scoring average of 71.14 ranks second in the program record books.

"He's the first guy I've had a chance to coach for four years," head coach Steve Bradley said. "It's been an absolute privilege to have him on the team with the way he is with his teammates, recruits and the way he conducts himself in the classroom, on the course and in life. He embodies what you want in a student-athlete on the golf team."

DiMarco earned his first all-region honor after ranking second on the team with a 71.4 season stroke average, five top-10 finishes and 10 top-25 outings. The Longwood, Fla., native won his first individual title as a Bull in the fall opener at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate and tied for second at The American tournament.

24880"He's really transformed himself into a great golfer from when he came in during his sophomore year to exiting as a senior through his dedication to golf along with his health and fitness," Bradley said. "It's been fun to coach him and watch him progress. He has a bright future ahead and the next stepping stone for him is turning pro, just like the other seniors."

Correa and DiMarco both now own a share of the new USF season record with 23 rounds of par of better apiece. The impressive seniors also helped USF match the program season record of five tournament title victories ahead of the program's sixth straight NCAA Regional appearance.
