Norman Named to Outland Trophy Watch List
TAMPA, JULY 24, 2018 – Junior tackle
Marcus Norman (Sebastian) became the second Bull to be named to a national award watch list for the 2018 season when he was named to the Outland Trophy Watch List on Tuesday.

Norman, who was a second team all-conference selection last year, joined junior tight end
Mitchell Wilcox (Tarpon Springs) who was named to the Mackey Award Watch List last week.

The Outland Trophy is presented to the nation's outstanding interior linemen.

Norman has started 21 straight games at right tackle for the Bulls as he plowed the way for the two most productive offenses in USF history during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. USF eclipsed 6,000 yards each season. Norman has been a big part of an offensive line that has led USF to 3,000-yard rushing seasons in each of the last two years, continuing a run of three straight 3,000-yard seasons and three straight years ranked in the top 10 in rushing nationally.

Norman started all 12 games last year as the Bulls went 10-2 and posted their second straight bowl game victory. The USF offense ranked sixth nationally in total offense posting a program-record 513.0 yards per game. The Bulls also ranked eighth nationally in rushing with 264.1 yards per game and 10
th in scoring offense, posting 38.3 points per game. The Bulls also allowed just 1.15 sacks per game to rank 15
th nationally.

Norman is one of three returning starters on the USF offensive line for the 2018 season. He is joined by senior tackle
Eric Mayes (Sarasota) and junior guard
William Atterbury (Clearwater).

USF begins fall camp on Aug. 3 and will open the 2018 season on Sat., Sept. 1 with a 6 p.m. kickoff vs. Elon in Raymond James Stadium.

USF posted its second straight 10-win season in 2017 (10-2) by winning its second straight Birmingham Bowl with a 38-34 victory over Texas Tech.
