10 Bulls on American Athletic Conference Fifth Anniversary Team Ballot

TAMPA, JULY 6, 2018 – The American Athletic Conference is celebrating its fifth anniversary by compiling the league's Fifth Anniversary Football Team this summer with votes from conference schools, local and national media that cover The American and fans.
Ten Bulls appear on the Fifth Anniversary Team ballot, with nominees selected based on those that were chosen as all-conference first team selections at least once, or in some instances, were multiple-time second-team selections. The American will name its Fifth Anniversary Team on July 24 at the conference's annual Summer Kickoff and Media Days in Newport, R.I.
Fan balloting will be one of three components that will determine the team. Fans may cast their votes for the Bulls at
www.TheAmerican.org/fifth_anniversary until Friday, July 13. Fans may also write in candidates that do not appear on the ballot.
USF has gone 24-16 in its first five seasons in The American, including posting six or more conference wins in each of the last three seasons, highlighted by a 7-1 conference record in 2016. The Bulls own a 16-6 record vs. opponents in the East Division and have posted a victory over every conference team except Houston.
The Bulls have had nine players earn first team American Athletic All-Conference honors and have earned 35 all-conference selections (first and second team) overall in the first five years of the conference, including a record 10 in each of the last two seasons.
Bulls on the Ballot
Quinton Flowers (QB) – The 2016 Offensive Player of the Year; two-time all-conference pick (2016 & 2017); American career record-holder in total offense; second highest season rushing total (1,530 in 2016); second all-time in career rushing (3,672); fifth all-time career in passing (8,124); career leader in rushing TD (41) and total TD (112); plays for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Marlon Mack (RB) – Three-time first team all-conference selection (2014, 15 & 16); 2014 Rookie of the Year; third all-time in career rushing (3,609); 1,381 rushing yards in 2015 are sixth-best conference season total; third all-time in career rushing TD (32); plays for the Indianapolis Colts.
Kofi Amichia (OT) – First team all-conference in 2016; plays for the Green Bay Packers.
Jeremi Hall (OG) – First team all-conference in 2017; made 25 consecutive starts in final two seasons, plays for the Chicago Bears.
Aaron Lynch (DL) – First team all-conference in 2013; posted six sacks and 12.5 TFL to lead Bulls in 2013; plays for the Chicago Bears.
Deadrin Senat (DL) – Two-time all-conference selection (2016 & 2017), posted 66 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss and 6.0 sacks in 2017; plays for the Atlanta Falcons.
Auggie Sanchez (LB) – Three-time all-conference selection (2015, 16 & 17); first team all-conference in 2017; Bulls' all-time leading tackler (388), third all-time in conference in career tackles; 120 tackles in 2016 are second-most in a season at USF.
Deatrick Nichols (CB) – Three-time all-conference selection (2015, 16 & 17), first team all-conference in 2015; led American with 1.25 passes defended per game in 2017; fourth all-time in career interceptions (11); plays for the Arizona Cardinals.
Emilio Nadelman (K) – First team all-conference selection in 2017; fourth all-time with 43 field goal made; 21 field goals in 2017 rank third-most in a season.
Mattias Ciabatti (P) – Two-time all-conference selection; first team all-conference in 2014; led conference in punting in 2014; third all-time career punting average (42.5).
ABOUT USF FOOTBALL
USF posted its second straight 10-win season in 2017 (10-2) by winning its second straight Birmingham Bowl with a 38-34 victory over Texas Tech. USF is one of just 14 teams nationally to win 20-plus games in the last two seasons (21-4) and has spent a program-record 20 straight weeks ranked in the top 25, reaching as high as No. 13 in Week 8 of the 2017 season. The Bulls have won five of their last six bowl appearances and made nine (6-3) total bowl appearances in 21 seasons, including a current run of three straight bowls. USF won a program-record 11 games in 2016 (11-2) and has posted 14 winning seasons. The USF program, which first took the field in 1997, reached No. 2 in the rankings in 2007 and has seen 28 players selected in the NFL Draft, 14 named All-American and had 32 first-team all-conference selections.
