Bulls Draw No. 5 South Carolina in Exhibition Test
TAMPA, AUG. 11, 2018 – The USF women's soccer team tied No. 5 South Carolina in an exhibition test at Gamecock Soccer Complex Saturday afternoon. USF outshot the Gamecocks, 9-6, with three shots on goal.
Five Bulls got in on the offensive action, with
Andrea Hauksdottir (Kopavogur, Iceland) leading the charge. She took three shots, one on goal followed by junior
Aubrey Megrath (West Palm Beach, Fla.) who took two shots, including one on goal.
The Bulls were awarded a penalty kick in the 70
th minute, taken by Hauksdottir who sent it wide. The junior midfielder from Iceland also took seven corners for USF compared to South Carolina's two during the three, 30-minute periods in the exhibition matchup.
The Bulls saw freshman
Sydney Martinez tested in goal for the first time, and she collected the Gamecocks' only shot on target early in the first period (13'). USF's defense held the back line blocking two shots and keeping South Carolina to just six total shots.

The Bulls return to Tampa for their final exhibition test against Washington on Monday at 7 p.m. The match will be played at the USF Track and Field Complex. Parking can be found in Lot 6, and fans can enter the stadium on the west side.
