Men’s Soccer Takes Down Titans 4-1 in Exhibition

TAMPA, Aug. 14, 2018 –The USF men's soccer team defeated Eastern Florida State College 4-1 on Tuesday at the USF Track and Field Stadium, led by senior striker Tomasz Skublak (Hamilton, Ontario, Canada), who had two goals on the night.

Skublak had a perfect game, scoring two goals on two shots, including a dominant header off a cross from teammate Alex Zis (Oakville, Ontario, Canada) to start off the preseason matchup for the Bulls. Eastern Florida's Aedon Kyra scored a penalty kick before Zis answered with a penalty kick of his own. Zis also had a dominant night, adding two assists to his goal for the Bulls.

After Zis' leading goal, Trey Jackson (Ocala, Fla.) beat a defender to a pass from Stephen Rudderham (Tampa, Fla.) and punched in the goal to the corner. Skublak then scored his second goal of the night on yet another cross from Zis to help the Bulls defeat the Titans 4-1.

"It was good to get back in rhythm and good to see them play," Head Coach Bob Butehorn said. "We were a little rough coming out of the gates, we faced a good team, and as the game grew on we got our feet underneath us and I was pleased with that."
